International Flights
Arrange your flights to arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Arusha, Tanzania.
Tanzania can be accessed by several routes. Many airlines connect though Europe.
Daily service option via Delta/KLM Dutch/Air France alliance flights from Amsterdam to Dar es Salaam via Kilimanjaro are best recommended.
Austrian, Ethiopian, Kenya, Lufthansa, Qatar, Turkish, and South African airlines are other carriers available via popular European, African, Middle East and Asian gateways.

Water and Electricity
Water supplies are safe in urban areas and established resorts. Outside main cities and safari camps/lodges be sure to boil or sterilize water used for drinking, brushing teeth or making ice should be boiled or otherwise sterilized.
Electricity supply: 240V AC, 50 Hz. Plugs may be round or square 3-pin, fused or unfused.
Communications
Reliable mobile telephone, and postage service exist in the main towns throughout the country. WIFI service is sparingly available.
Remote areas (except for upmarket resorts) will be less well supportive. A direct international dialing service is available in the major cities, hotels and lodges.
Passports / Visas
Ensure your passports and required visas are up to date. The cost of a visa is dependent on your nationality.
For traveler ease, visas are attainable upon landing at Kilimanjaro Airport in Customs. An entry fee must be paid, and can be up to $100 per person, depending on their passport of origin.
Alternatively, some visitors to Tanzania can obtain visas in advance of traveling in their home country.

Medication
Pharmacists are limited in Tanzania. Please bring your own medications to last during your visit.
Currency
The local currency unit is the Tanzania Shilling. Money may be changed at authorized dealers, commercial banks or bureaus de change at international airports, major towns and at many safari lodges. Debit card ATMs can be accessed in many locations. MasterCard, Visa and American Express are the most widely recognized credit cards.
